On June 13th we filmed the wedding of Erika & Jason at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in New Albany, followed by a reception at Kye’s. It turned out to be a great day and the video is shaping up to be one of our best. Editing is underway, but in the meantime here are some stills taken from the footage:

Mad Decent

June 23rd, 2009 focusvideoworks No comments

Over the weekend, the Focus Videoworks crew headed up to Philadelphia to do some work for Mad Decent Records. If you’ve never heard any of their stuff, they produce mostly Electronic/Indie music, as well as remixes for some of the biggest names in the recording industry. Great stuff. Check them out here: Mad Decent Records

Our project was to create a new tour promo for Major Lazer. We hung out at the studio and attended the in-store for Major Lazer’s new album, Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do, before filming the Major Lazer show Friday night at The Electric Factory.

Here’s what we came up with:

Cindy & Kent

June 10th, 2009 focusvideoworks No comments

On May 9th we had the pleasure of filming the wedding of Cindy & Kent at the Woodhaven Country Club in Louisville. It was a beautiful outdoor ceremony by the lake, followed by an outdoor, poolside reception. The weather was great and the footage looks fantastic (even more so because this was one of our HD weddings).

Editing is almost completed on Cindy & Kent’s video and hopefully I will be able to put up some video samples soon, but I thought in the meantime I would upload a gallery of stills taken from their video. We are planning to make this a new feature for our clients, with the galleries available to view within a couple of weeks on the blog while they are waiting for their videos.

Check out the pics:

We wish you the best, Cindy & Kent!

New Equipment

June 9th, 2009 focusvideoworks 1 comment

The newest addition to our equipment arsenal is in! We’ve upgraded our old handheld Glidecam 4000 to the new Glidecam HD4000 with Smooth Shooter. This is a professional camera stabilizer package comparable to a steadicam! This new piece of equipment will allow us to move the camera freely, without shake, during our receptions, creating smooth, flowing footage with a very cinematic feel. We’re looking forward to using it on our next upcoming wedding on June 13th. Check out a picture of the Smooth Shooter system below (the old Glidecam 4000 is pictured with it):

One the post-production end, we’ve recently upgraded our main editing suite with two more terabytes of internal hard drives, a new and improved graphics card capable of handling even the largest HD footage, and two new 22″ HD monitors.

The industry is moving ahead and we will continue to move right along with it.

REPOST: The Wedding of Lindsay & Derek

June 7th, 2009 focusvideoworks No comments

This was the last post from the old blog (I know we needed to update badly). I am reposting it in order to use the new flash photo gallery on the new blog. The images are small because they were pulled off the old blog. New galleries will have full size images.

REPOST:
Over New Year’s Eve I was lucky enough to travel down to New Orleans for a wedding. Great right? Well if it wasn’t already fun enough to spend New Year’s in the Big Easy, this was also a very special wedding for me. It was the wedding of my sister, Lindsay, and my new brother-in-law, Derek!

I shot their wedding video in a small chapel in the French Quarter and it was beautiful! Then we proceeded to party on Bourbon Street for the Reception.

Here are some stills taken from the video:

Check back for more soon!

New Blog!

June 7th, 2009 focusvideoworks No comments

This is the first entry in the new Focus Videoworks blog!

We are finally hosting our blog on the Focus Videoworks site, which means more updates, flash photo galleries, and high quality video!

The last month has been very busy for us. We’ve filmed three weddings, three school graduations, done numerous photo montages and even done some traveling. Most of these projects are in the editing stage currently, but I hope to have some pictures and videos up soon.
